No Single Serve Packaged Food

I pledge to not buy any single serve or travel size packaged food products unless it’s an emergency and nothing else is available. I will plan ahead and pack my own snacks in reusable containers, especially when traveling. I will find a waste-free way to control portion size.

Waste created by single serve food items is thrown in the garbage and sent to an incinerator or landfill (if you’re outside CT). Even if packaging is labeled compostable or biodegradable, it’s placed in the same waste stream as trash and will not be sent to a composting facility unless it’s separated at the source.

If a product is wrapped in edible packaging or one that’s compostable at home and you will compost it, then perfect! Noteworthy Chocolates’ packaging is plastic-free and 100% compostable in your yard, or your gift recipient’s yard. Please also take our Zero Waste Gifts pledge.

Airlines, restaurants, hotels, resorts and grocery stores are beginning to cut waste, eliminate single-use plastics and compost food waste.
